CASINO NIGHT?
Casino night? CASINO NIGHT? Who are these people? What were they thinking?
Last night the youngest son 'celebrated' his completion of the 8th grade. Apparently this school district only recognizes the 12th grade with a graduation ceremony. In fact, the vice principal from the High School, in her speech, said up until now nothing has counted. From here on it everything counts. Wow, way to encourage those kids who have spent 9 years in school to feel as though they wasted the last 9 years on nothing!\
After the celebration (which is organized by parents because, as I said above the school doesn't recognize their accomplishments) was the 9th grade 'celebration' party. I found out this morning the party was Casino Night. They taught the kids how to play blackjack and they won prizes donated by local business.
Hey, way to go! Let's get them hooked early. Let's be sure they get the gambling bug so they can spend hours and hours in front of slot machines losing money becoming destitute and ending up with nothing but lung cancer and an addiction. Yeah, what a great idea! I'm sure the local casino had a big part in this.
Give me a break. What's up with these people. Don't they realize that gambling and indian casinos is the way the natives are sticking it to the white man? I've never, NEVER heard of anything good coming from someone losing their money in a casino. They are rigged and just a glorified classroom for alcoholism and compulsive gambling.
If I would have know that is what they were doing he would not have gone.
Of course, as always this is just my opinion.
